There was a rather bizarre moment during Wednesday's public workout at Liffey Valley ahead of this weekend's massive boxing card at the 3Arena.

Katie Taylor, her opponent Chantelle Cameron, and the other fighters in action on Saturday's card all took to the ring in front of hundreds of excited fans at the shopping centre to the west of Dublin city centre.

Among the boxers to take part in the public workout was Dubliner Thomas Carty, who faces England's Dan Garver at the 3Arena as he aims to take his professional record to 7-0.

But shortly after finishing his workout, Carty was confronted by a man on an escalator shouting abuse in his direction and challenging him to a fight.

That man is a TikTok user named "The Shadow Boxer", who has been involved in war of words with Carty on social media over a spar between the pair in Thailand.

"The Shadow Boxer" claims he "schooled" the 28-year-old during the five-round spar, while Carty posted footage online showing him knocking the TikToker down.

After turning up at the public workouts, "The Shadow Boxer" jumped over the side of the escalator towards Carty before quickly being blocked off and told to leave by security. He later shared a number of clips of the stunt on social media.
