Conor McGregor has hinted at his upcoming UFC return date and shared where his favourite place in Ireland is.

The Dubliner has not fought since 2021 after suffering defeat to Dustin Poirier while also enduring a horror leg break.

And it now looks likely that McGregor will return at a bumper UFC 300 card while taking on Michael Chandler. The fight has been in the pipeline for nearly a year and McGregor is edging close to a return.

Taking to social media, McGregor shared several updates, saying: "I am confident we get the set date. There is no one holding no one back. A lot goes on behind the scenes but all involved are working hard to make it happen."

McGregor also added that he is 'in' for UFC 300 and could main event the Pay-Per-View.

When asked about his favourite place to visit in Ireland, McGregor predictably said it was his own premises the Black Forge Inn.

Replying to a Twitter user, he said: "The @blackforgeinn , easy! An amazingly warm, welcoming friendly place! A great representation of the best of Ireland! The team are outstanding!"

UFC president Dana White confirmed that McGregor is still to go through six months of USADA testing, despite confirming that he did re-enter the pool on October 8. If this is to be true, McGregor would have been eligible to fight in April, but White stated that the summer is more likely for him.

McGregor has already revealed that he has received two negative tests from the agency, in the hopes of returning as soon as possible - potentially facing Michael Chandler at UFC 300.

But it appears that the former two-weight champion will not be on that card.

McGregor's coach John Kavanagh confirmed that 'The Notorious' is back in full training, after being seen with former PFL champion Brendan Loughnane in recent weeks as preparations, and the wait, for a much anticipated return to the octagon in 2024 go on.

Kavanagh told Ariel Helwani's MMA Hour: “He has been really enjoying it again. He is looking forward to it. We were hoping for April. That is what we were told and the hope. But now it appears to be summer time.”
