Stephen Cluxton received his seventh All-Star award at the PwC ceremony at the age of 42 on Friday evening - 21 years after winning his first.

Cluxton became the oldest player to win the award but despite his many years of success, the Dublin goalkeeper is still as quiet and shy as ever.

RTE presenter Joanne Cantwell quickly moved past Cluxton without speaking to him before moving on to Derry’s Conor McCluskey.

“We know he’s (Cluxton) shy, so I’ll just skip by him,” she said.

Social media was quick to acknowledge Cluxton’s shyness, with a number of people commenting online.

One viewer asked: “Did Cluxton tell RTE he didn’t want to talk?"

Another said: “Cluxton was just not having Cantwell there #PwCAllStars.”

Someone else stated that Cluxton had "chronic shyness".

Cluxton was joined on stage by his Dublin teammate Michael Fitzsimons, with McCluskey and Tom O’Sullivan to make up the All-Star full-back line.

James McCarthy, Brian Fenton and Colm Basquel also added to Dublin’s awards on the night.
