A vehicle that ran into difficulties on the M50 this weekend was smashed to pieces as the occupants waited safely for roadside assistance.
The vehicle had broken down, with the occupants of the car waiting safely behind the crash barrier when the collision took place - a practice that Dublin Fire Brigade stressed anyone who runs into issues on the motorway should do.
Thankfully no one was injured during the collision, however, pictures shared on social media show both the front and back of the car having been smashed apart.
In a post on social media on Sunday, Dublin Fire Brigade wrote: “Firefighters/Paramedics are at the M50 between J4 and J5 Southbound.

“Occupants of this vehicle were safely behind the crash barrier when the collision took place. Always exit your vehicle and wait behind the crash barrier if you break down.”
