The moment a fight breaks out outside a South Dublin takeaway that left a garda injured and a male arrested has been caught on camera.

The incident unfolded outside Macaris Takeaway in Old Bawn in Tallaght in the early hours of Saturday morning in front of a number of witnesses inside and outside the premises.

The brawl saw one male knocked to the ground in a one punch attack while another male shouted ‘You’re dead’ to a person inside the premises.

Footage obtained by the Irish Mirror of the horror incident unfolding shows a number of males pushing and shoving each other at the door of the takeaway while customers are being served inside.

One male is heard shouting ‘Get away from him’ before shouting ‘You’re dead.’

A male in a black coat is seen kicking and shoving another male at the doorway. A male is then punched in the face and falls to the ground appearing to be unconscious.

Several other male then grab a male in a white t-shirt and start punching him in the head and upper body. A second fight breaks out between two other males - with blood seen on a male’s white top.

A second video then shows five members of An Garda Siochana at the scene attempting to restrain two of the males while another male is tending to the injured man on the ground.

A struggle ensues between three gardai and a male in a white t-shirt while a second male in a white t-shirt is also restrained before the video clip ends.

An Garda Siochana confirmed investigations are ongoing. A spokesperson confirmed one male was arrested for public order offences and during the course of his detention a member of An Garda Siochana was assaulted and suffered injuries.

“Gardaí responded to a report of a public order incident on the Old Bawn Road, Tallaght at approximately 3am on Saturday, 13th August,” the statement said.

“One male in his 40s was arrested for public order offences and brought to Rathfarnham Garda Station.

“This person was charged under Section 4 (Intoxication) and Section 6 (threatening and abusive behaviour) of the Public Order Act and was later released pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.”
