Hundreds of kids’ life jackets that were sold in Ireland are being recalled due to a serious safety issue, which places children at risk of drowning.
The flotation devices were purchased on Amazon for children between the ages of one and six, and approximately 580 of the products are currently believed to be in Ireland.
The Swimbubs Float Jacket Buoyancy Aids were sold here between May 2019 and October 2023 in sizes suitable for one to three-year-olds, as well as larger sizes for three to six-year-olds.

Parents have been warned to discontinue using the products immediately, as they put children at risk of drowning and "may not perform as expected" when the person wearing the jacket is in danger in the water.
Amazon has advised all customers who purchased the jackets to contact Swimbubs directly with a view to getting a refund.
However, Swimbubs has warned of delays in getting back to people and apologised for the inconvenience caused.
"We are a small, family-run business with very limited resources, therefore we please kindly ask you to allow us some time to respond back to you," a company spokesperson said.
"We hope our little business can survive this recall and is able to continue operating going forward. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused."
The affected products come in two designs: one featuring a blue whale, and another featuring a pink dolphin.
The product codes are BW-010-BW-S, BW-010-BW-M, BW-010-PD-S, and BW-010-PD-M.
"A safety issue has been identified with a Swimbubs Float Jacket Buoyancy Aid sold on Amazon," said the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).
"The product presents a risk of drowning as it may not perform as expected when relied upon to protect a user from harm in the water.
"If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately and keep away from children."
