I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans have thrown a blanket of mistrust over American contestant Jamie Lynn Spears - sharing a theory that she’s playing a devious game to try to win the jungle crown.
The 32-year-old actress is one of 10 celebrities taking part in the 23rd season of ITV’s long-running reality popularity contest, which airs on Virgin Media in Ireland. She is best known for being the younger sister of pop sensation Britney Spears - who slammed her as manipulative in her recent smash autobiography The Woman In Me.
And I’m A Celeb fans seem to be following 41-year-old Brit’s lead - as they think Jamie Lynn could have a game plan to further her success in the reality show. The new season kicked off on Sunday night and saw Jamie Lynn parachute into the camp in Australia - which includes other stars including Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, controversial politician Nigel Farage, and YouTube star Nella Rose.

Upon entry into the camp, Jamie Lynn was quizzed by fellow contestant and occasional This Morning host Josie Gibson. The 38-year-old Big Brother contestant turned presenter asked the American star if she had a preference between singing and acting - as she has dipped her toe into both performance spheres.
Jamie Lynn replied: "I like acting, music is so personal. It takes so much more out of you, like with acting, you're like escaping it to be another character. I love playing like a character that people want to hate but they end up liking, you know."
Viewers saw Jamie Lynn’s comment as a thinly veiled dig at her older sister and that she may have hinted she plans to share a villain to hero character transformation journey during her time in the jungle. Many fans took to social media to share the theory - and hinted that this plan might not work in her favour.
One such fan wrote online: "The way Jamie Lynn said ‘I love playing a character that people want to hate but end up loving’ if that’s a hint, then you got it wrong honey.” Another agreed, writing: "Why do i feel like jamie lynn saying ‘I love playing a character people hate at first then realise they like is foreshadowing."
Another wrote: "Jamie Lynn saying she likes to be the bad character that everyone ends up liking … nice try.” And a further fan stated: "Jamie-Lynn: ‘I love playing a character that people want to hate but end up liking’. Did she just reveal her game plan.”
Before appearing on the ITV show, Jamie Lynn said she hoped viewers would get to know the real her during her time on the show. She said in a pre-entery interview: "There is literally every misconception you can have on a person about me so I don’t take any of it seriously. But I do think going on I’m A Celebrity will be a nice way for people to see the real me. This is an opportunity to be myself and do something really cool and have some awesome experiences in the meantime."
