I'm A Celebrity viewers were left unimpressed during the latest show as Ant and Dec issued an apology.
The hit ITV competition has returned for its latest series at celebrities headed Down Under to take on its gruelling challenges. On Tuesday night, hosts Ant and Dec were back bringing the latest drama from camp. Yet fans were left unimpressed over a "cruel" technical glitch during the programme.
During their segment between showing trials and camp drama, the presenters were discussing Josie Gibson. They praised the This Morning host for her day job presenting live TV and then challenged themselves to do the segment without an auto cue. However it all went terribly wrong for Ant and Dec.
They fumbled their lines and jokingly called each other by the wrong names. However, viewers were left confused as during the live segment, screens went blank. Fans took to social media to share their concern as one said: "That was so cruel cutting to black I thought my tv was playing up."
Another asked: "Did I just go black for everyone else or just me?" Someone else said: "Did anyone else's screen go black while watching." A fourth commented: "Did anyone else’s screen just suddenly go black." A fan wrote: "My screen went black, anyone else??" Another asked: "Anyone else’s screen just go blank?? Was that part of the joke???"
Despite many thinking it was part of Ant and Dec's joke about not being able to read an autocue, the screen was not meant to go blank. The duo apologised to fans later on in the show. Ant said: "There was a slight technical problem and we came off air for a few seconds so we apologise for that."
Dec added: "Sorry!" as Ant continued: "2% less air time for us back then, what a shame." Fans took to social media again, where one said: "Ah yeah, they went off air for a few seconds. Must be why it went black for me.." Another added: "Ant & Dec have me howling at their 2% less airtime joke."
Someone else said: "me and my sister laughing saying someone defo tripped up in the studio cause it cut to black and Ant & Dec confirming that they did indeed have problems I KNEW IT." During the episode Ant and Dec weighed in Nella Rose's drama with campmate Fred Sirieix.
It comes after Fred left Nella Rose feeling "disrespected" and "offended" with comments he made to her amid some heartbreaking losses in her family. She claimed the First Dates star was aware of her family tragedy so a comment he made to her in camp left her upset. During cooking, Fred and Nella were discussing their ages where he said their age gap means he could be her dad.
Following the explosive chat, Ant and Dec gave their verdict on the drama brewing in camp.Dec quipped: "Blimey, that feels like a bit of a misunderstanding that has been blown out of proportion doesn't it." Ant interjected: "By a tornado! That was big man." Dec continued: "Never easy when strong personalities have to live so closely together and the weather has been bad." Ant asked: "Gloomy weather, gloomy people maybe?"
