Christmas

There’s something about Paris in winter that feels truly enchanting. From the soft glow of twinkling lights to the scent of roasted chestnuts and the cheerful buzz of holiday markets, the City of Light shines with a special kind of warmth during the festive season. This year, Paris promises an especially dazzling holiday lineup, filled with concerts, festive Christmas markets, enchanting window displays and unforgettable dining.

Whether you’re planning a romantic escape, a family celebration or a cozy getaway with friends, winter is the perfect time to experience a more intimate and sparkling side of Paris. We’ve created this guide to help you plan a holiday stay in Paris and enjoy every moment of the season.

Christmas market

Paris Christmas Markets

This year there will be festive markets scattered across the city, each one offering its own charm along with handcrafted gifts, regional delicacies and warming cups of vin chaud.

  • La Défense Christmas Village – November 13 to December 28, 2025
We love visiting this market for its impressive size and festive energy. With more than 150 chalets set beneath the modern skyline of La Défense, it’s the largest in Paris and perfect for finding regional specialties and handmade gifts.
  • Tuileries Garden Christmas Market – November 14, 2025 to January 4, 2026)
This market truly lives up to its name, La Magie de Noël (The Magic of Christmas). Located beside the Louvre, it’s one of our favorite spots to spend an afternoon surrounded by holiday treats, rides and often even a small ice rink. The aroma of roasted chestnuts fills the air, and the views of the gardens and museum lights at dusk make it pure Parisian magic.
  • Saint-Germain-des-Prés Christmas Market – November 25, 2025 to January 1, 2026
Small but full of charm, this market feels like stepping into a Paris postcard. Nestled among elegant boutiques and cafés, it’s the perfect stop for anyone staying on the Left Bank. We love to browse the stalls, then warm up with coffee or chocolat chaud at Café de Flore or Les Deux Magots nearby.
  • Notre-Dame Christmas Market – November 28 to December 25, 2025
Set in the charming Square René Viviani just across from Notre-Dame, this market focuses on French craftsmanship, regional delicacies and festive entertainment. The setting—with views of the cathedral and the Seine—makes it one of the most picturesque holiday markets in the city.
  • Eiffel Tower Christmas Market – Dates to be confirmed
Set along the Quai Jacques Chirac, this one is especially close to our hearts since it’s just moments from many of our Paris Perfect apartments in the 7th arrondissement. The combination of twinkling market lights, live music and the Eiffel Tower glittering above the Seine is nothing short of unforgettable. It’s a must-see if you’re staying nearby.

Fête des Vendanges

Every autumn, Montmartre turns into one of the most joyful places in Paris as the neighborhood gathers to celebrate its wine harvest festival. The Fête des Vendanges de Montmartre is a five-day event that blends culture, community and history in one of the city’s most iconic and creative districts. In 2025, the 92nd edition will take place from October 8th to 12th, and it promises to be especially vibrant.

This year’s theme is all about youth – not just in age, but in spirit. From energetic performances and street parades to artistic workshops and culinary tastings, the festival invites everyone to celebrate what it means to stay curious, creative and connected across generations. Whether you’re 7 or 77, a lifelong Parisian or a visitor for the day, you’re invited to join in this fun event.

While the Fête des Vendanges is full of life and creativity today, it’s also deeply rooted in tradition. Wine production in Montmartre dates back to the 12th century, when the nuns of the Montmartre Abbey first planted vines on the hill. At one point, nearly three-quarters of the Butte was covered in vineyards. They disappeared in the 1920s, only to be revived in 1933 thanks to a group of passionate locals determined to preserve Montmartre’s spirit and protect it from real estate development.

Since then, the Clos Montmartre vineyard, cared for year-round by the City of Paris and the COFAS association, has produced a limited batch of wine each year. The proceeds go to local social programs and the tradition lives on, making this festival one of Paris’s most meaningful and community-driven celebrations.

Montmartre

What to Expect at the 2025 Fête des Vendanges

For five full days, the 18th arrondissement will come alive with a wide range of events.

  • The Grand Parade:
A favorite moment of the festival, the Grand Parade fills the streets with music, dancing, costumes and colorful performances. Locals and artists from around the world join together in celebration, reflecting Montmartre’s diverse and inclusive spirit.
  • The Taste Trail:
Running from Friday, October 10th through Sunday, October 12th, this open-air culinary experience invites food lovers to explore the flavors of France at stalls around the base of Sacré-Cœur. Sample wine, cheese, pastries and regional specialties while enjoying the festive atmosphere.
  • Guided Tours of the Clos Montmartre Vineyard:
Go behind the gates of Paris’s last remaining vineyard with a guided tour led by historian Jean-Manuel Gabert. These rare and fascinating visits tell the story of Montmartre’s winemaking tradition and the vines that still grow on the Butte today. These tours require advance reservations, which will open soon. Spots fill up quickly, so be sure to check the official schedule and book early.
  • Live Shows, Exhibitions, and Workshops:
Throughout the district, you’ll find free concerts, open-air performances, art installations and hands-on activities for all ages. Most events are free and open to the public, though a few select activities may require advance booking or special access.
  • A High-Energy Closing Party:
To wrap up the festival, DJ Thierry will host a spirited evening of music and dancing to celebrate the harvest season for another year.

Marais travel guide

If cobblestone streets, medieval courtyards and chic boutiques sound like your dream Parisian setting, then the Marais is the perfect place to spend a day – or many more. This beloved Right Bank neighborhood blends centuries-old architecture with a fresh, modern energy. It’s where we love to wander, shop, linger over long lunches and enjoy the lived-in charm that makes the Marais one of the most popular neighborhoods of Paris.

The Marais really has it all: historic mansions, secret gardens, cozy cafés, creative concept stores and a food scene that rivals any arrondissement in Paris. And when you stay in one of our carefully curated Paris Perfect vacation rentals in the Marais, you’ll experience it all like a true local, just steps from your front door.

History Around Every Corner

The Marais is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Paris, and it shows in the best way possible. Every winding street feels like a story, and there’s so much beautifully preserved architecture. Take a stroll past grand hôtels particuliers (former aristocratic mansions), many of which now house some of the city’s most captivating museums. Favorites include the Musée Carnavalet dedicated to the history of Paris, the Musée National Picasso and the unique Maison de Victor Hugo.

The Musée Picasso is one of the artistic gems of Paris.

Don’t miss a walk through Place des Vosges, Paris’s oldest planned square. Surrounded by elegant arcades and tucked-away art galleries, it’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down and soak it all in. While you’re there, pop into Carette for a sampling of macarons or a velvety hot chocolate. Yes, it can be a little touristy, but the treats (especially their chouquettes) and views are worth every sip and bite.

This neighborhood once belonged to the aristocracy, and you can still feel that old-world charm in its peaceful courtyards and refined façades, even as it hums with the energy of modern-day Paris.

Marais museums

Walk through the history of Paris at the Musée Carnavalet.

To dive deeper into the rich architectural and cultural tapestry of the Marais, plan a guided walking tour led by a local expert. You’ll uncover centuries of history through landmarks like the Hôtel de Soubise, Hôtel de Sens, Hôtel de Donon and, of course, Place des Vosges. It’s a wonderful way to explore the area’s evolution from aristocratic enclave to one of the city’s most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods.

Marais shopping

Boutique Shopping & Parisian Style

Start on Rue des Francs-Bourgeois for a stylish mix of everyday French labels and upscale boutiques. Then weave your way through Rue Vieille du Temple and Rue des Rosiers, where you’ll find everything from vintage gems to cult-favorite concept stores. Here are just a few of our favorite spots:

  • Le Bijou Parisien: A fresh, design-forward brand inspired by urban life and the metro stations of Paris. Their sleek pieces are as cool as they are collectible.
  • Fragonard: This family-run perfume house has been crafting beautiful fragrances in Grasse since 1926. Alongside their signature scents, you’ll find colorful home goods and the prettiest pillowcases that are perfect gifts for yourself or someone back home.
  • Merci: No trip to the Marais is complete without a stop at this iconic concept store. It’s a treasure trove of curated fashion, home decor and accessories with a café tucked inside and its Insta-famous red Fiat parked out front.

Foodie Favorites

The Marais is a haven for food lovers, where it seems every corner has a tempting café, creative bakery or time-tested bistro. Start your day with a baguette or flaky pastry from a local boulangerie and settle in at a café for some classic Paris people-watching.

One can’t-miss stop is the Marché des Enfants-Rouges, Paris’s oldest covered market. Inside, you’ll find everything from Japanese bento boxes to Moroccan tagines and fresh organic crêpes. Keep an eye out near the entrance for the local artist who creates whimsical sculptures out of old books. He’s a longtime neighborhood fixture, and his work is one-of-a-kind. Just outside, you’ll often find pop-up brocantes (flea markets) perfect for treasure hunting.

Shop at the Marché des Enfants-Rouges.

Hungry yet? Here are a few of our favorite neighborhood spots:

  • Brigat Paris: A stylish, modern boulangerie serving exceptional loaves. The brioche feuilletée is a must, and while the baguettes are delicious, it’s the specialty breads that truly shine.
  • Le Trumilou: Looking for an authentic Parisian bistro with a local vibe? Head here. It’s cozy, unfussy and reliably delicious. Just the way we like it!
  • Le Carreau: A warm, welcoming bistro with a “fait maison” (house-made) philosophy. Their team works with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients to create a menu that fuses French classics with Asian influences. The natural wine and craft cocktail list is just as thoughtful as the food, and the friendly staff make you feel right at home.
Paris historic walking tour

Enjoy a stroll along the Seine through the historic heart of Paris!

A Walkable & Wonderful Location in Paris

One of the best parts about staying in the Marais? You’re incredibly well-connected. Walk to the Seine, explore Île Saint-Louis and admire the Gothic grandeur of Notre-Dame. From there, you’re just steps from the Left Bank and the beauty of Saint-Germain. Don’t miss our self-guided walking tour from Place Dauphine to the Left Bank for an inspiring route through history.

Or try this beautiful walk through the historic heart of Paris, perfect for soaking in the architecture, gardens and hidden corners that make this part of the city so magical. And with several metro stations nearby, it’s easy to venture farther – from the Louvre and Opéra to the Eiffel Tower and beyond.

We're shining a spotlight on three beautiful monthly apartment rentals with the perfect location in the ultra chic 16th arrondissement to enjoy living like a local.

16th arrondissement

When travelers dream of Paris, they often picture the sparkling Eiffel Tower, elegant Haussmann buildings and charming tree-lined streets – and for good reason. These are the very qualities that make the 7th arrondissement so beloved by our guests. But just across the Seine, the 16th arrondissement also offers a similarly graceful, residential feel with a quiet and delightfully local rhythm that’s perfect for longer stays.

At Paris Perfect, we love helping guests discover new corners of the city to fall in love with. That’s why we’re highlighting three exceptional monthly vacation rental apartments in the 16th arrondissement—Grillet, Pommard and Tannat—each offering a beautiful blend of comfort and elegance in a neighborhood that’s perfect for experiencing authentic Parisian charm.

16th arrondissement

The Passy neighborhood has a welcoming village-like atmosphere.

Why Stay in the 16th Arrondissement?

Elegant and residential, the 16th arrondissement and Passy neighborhood is where Parisian life quietly thrives. Locals linger over coffee at café terraces, families shop for seasonal produce at the lively Marché Président Wilson and food lovers head to Rue de l’Annonciation, a charming pedestrian street lined with gourmet shops, patisseries and some of the best specialty food stores in Paris. Strolling its leafy boulevards, you’ll also find a stunning array of architecture, from grand Haussmannian buildings to striking Art Nouveau and Art Deco façades that give the neighborhood its distinctive character as one of the loveliest in Paris.

Rue de L’Annonciation is a foodie haven in the 16th.

While the 16th feels calm and distinctly local, it’s also incredibly well connected – just across the river from the Eiffel Tower, very near the Arc de Triomphe and close to the expansive Bois de Boulogne, one of Paris’s most beloved green spaces.

Culture lovers will also appreciate the world-class museums tucked throughout the arrondissement. The Fondation Louis Vuitton, housed in a striking Frank Gehry–designed building, hosts major international exhibitions. Nearby, the Musée Marmottan Monet holds the largest collection of Monet paintings in the world, including Impression, Sunrise, the iconic work that gave Impressionism its name.

For longer stays, the 16th offers the perfect balance of beauty, tranquility and convenience. With its quiet atmosphere, excellent bakeries, chic boutiques, peaceful parks and well-connected transport options, it’s a graceful corner of Paris where it’s easy to settle in and feel at home.

The Grillet is a spacious home away from home in Paris.

Grillet: A Chic Parisian Escape with Eiffel Tower Views

First up in our neighborhood spotlight is Grillet, a stunning three-bedroom apartment that epitomizes the elegance of the 16th. From its curated décor to its sunny living room overlooking the rooftops toward the Eiffel Tower, this apartment feels like something out of a Parisian dream. With two large sitting areas, a study for quiet work moments and three beautifully appointed bedrooms, there’s room to stretch out and unwind. The fully equipped kitchen is complete with an eat-in dining table and is ideal for morning coffee and market-fresh dinners.

Whether you’re hosting friends, settling in for remote work or simply enjoying life in Paris, the Grillet provides the space and comfort for a longer stay. Plus, the location is unbeatable! It’s just a short walk to the Trocadéro and is surrounded by the graceful charm of the 16th. View more photos to take a virtual tour through the beautiful Grillet in Paris.

Enjoy chic design and comfort at the Pommard.

Pommard: Modern Design Meets Classic Parisian Style

Tucked into the charming Village Passy area of the 16th, the Pommard is a two-bedroom gem with thoughtful design, natural light and a touch of whimsy. A separate dining room and den make it easy to entertain or relax, and the clever bar opening from the kitchen adds both style and function. Each bedroom is a cozy retreat, and the den can double as an additional sleeping space. You’ll even find a small office nook ideal for digital nomads or remote workers.

What truly sets Pommard apart is its location in one of the 16th’s most delightful foodie pockets. Just around the corner from the pedestrian-only Rue de l’Annonciation—a beloved local market street—and close to the gourmet delights of La Grande Épicerie Rive Droite, this apartment invites you to embrace the culinary delights of Paris. Take a closer look at the chic Pommard apartment apartment in Paris.

You’ll loving calling Tannat home in Paris!

Tannat: Elegant Space for Long-Term Living

The Tannat is a beautifully designed three-bedroom apartment that combines modern comfort with classic Parisian elegance. A graceful entryway opens to a sunlit living room and a spacious dining room where you can gather with friends or enjoy a quiet meal at home. The sleek kitchen features a second dining area and everything you need to cook and entertain with ease.

The primary bedroom features a walk-in closet and en suite bathroom, while the second bedroom includes a stylish loft space – a fun and functional addition. The third bedroom also offers its own en suite bath. Each room is bathed in natural light and styled with understated sophistication, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the home.

Located just a short walk from the Trocadéro, the Tannat places you near beautiful fountains, world-class museums and one of the best Eiffel Tower photo spots in the city at Avenue de Camoëns. There’s something truly special about slowing down and savoring Paris at your own pace. With a long-term stay, you can go beyond the typical sightseeing to discover the rhythms of everyday life, from finding your favorite boulangerie and practicing your French with your neighborhood cheese vendor to joining a local yoga class or exploring hidden museums off the beaten path. Whether you’re working remotely, learning the language or simply embracing the art of living well, Paris reveals new and magical layers the longer you stay.

Lemon cake

Tucked away on charming rue Augereau in Paris’s 7th arrondissement, just a short stroll from the Eiffel Tower, a new café is quickly becoming a local favorite, and for good reason! Constant., opened by Ben Constant, son of legendary Michelin-starred chef Christian Constant, is a cozy spot that blends neighborhood charm with culinary excellence.

Paris Perfect founder Maddy recently visited and discovered firsthand why it’s already such a hit. “I stopped by for a quick coffee and a slice of lemon cake,” she said, “and fell in love with both.” So much so, in fact, that she set out to find another version of that lemon cake at two different pâtisseries, with no success. “All the others are poor relatives!” she laughed. “Ben coats the top of each slice with tart lemon syrup, which makes it irresistible.”

And in a heartwarming twist, Maddy spotted Christian Constant himself walking over to the café one morning with three dozen eggs, lending a hand to his son’s bustling kitchen and keeping the family’s culinary legacy alive. So impressed by the lemon cake, Maddy asked him for the recipe, and he graciously shared it. Now, we’re delighted to pass it along to you! It’s bright, citrusy and just the right amount of indulgent. The perfect treat to bake when you’re dreaming of Paris!

  • Boil water and sugar until dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice.
  • Once the cake is cooled, slowly pour the warm syrup over the top, letting it soak in.

Bonus: Another 7th Arrondissement Dining Gem

The deliciousness doesn’t stop there. Just around the corner, Christian Constant has helped bring yet another dining gem to life: Le Bistrot des Fables. This cozy new bistro at 139 rue Saint-Dominique carries on the long-standing tradition of warm, welcoming Parisian spots where the food is comforting and the wine is always flowing. The space, once home to the beloved Café Constant and then Café Lignac, has been transformed by David Bottreau, longtime collaborator and right-hand man of Mr. Constant, who has a deep passion for French cuisine and neighborhood dining.

At the helm in the kitchen is Chef Guillaume Dehecq, who brings a heartfelt, traditional approach to every dish. From the solid wood tables to the lively counter, Le Bistrot des Fables feels like a return to the golden age of Parisian bistros, a timeless spot for a relaxed lunch or a cozy dinner with friends.

With so many culinary treasures popping up around every corner, it’s easy to see why we adore the 7th arrondissement. From cozy cafés and family-run restaurants to world-class museums and iconic monuments, this neighborhood has the perfect mix of food, culture and charm.

Ready to savor this delicious neighborhood? Many of our Paris vacation rentals are just steps from these local favorites. Whether you’re popping out for a morning espresso, indulging in a leisurely dinner or simply strolling the picturesque streets, the 7th offers the perfect home base to live like a local and eat like one too. Bon appétit!

Hermès

At Paris Perfect, decorating our vacation rentals is more than just design – it’s about creating a timeless, elegant space that reflects the beauty and heritage of Paris. Over the years, we’ve developed a signature design element that has become a much-loved feature in our apartments: framed vintage Hermès scarves. These iconic silk pieces are the perfect blend of artistry, history and luxury, and they’ve become an integral part of the décor in our properties.

What started as a design idea for our Paris Perfect Shared co-ownership properties has grown into something truly special, resonating with guests and design lovers alike. A recent video of Paris Perfect founder Madelyn going on a sourcing trip to find vintage Hermès scarves in Paris has already garnered over a million views (watch it here!), and the response has been overwhelming. So, in this post, we’re sharing more about how we select, frame and incorporate these beautiful scarves into our vacation rentals – and where you can shop for them yourself in Paris!

Hermès scarves like this one at Cairanne are stunning works of art!

Why Hermès Scarves?

There’s a reason Hermès scarves are so iconic. Known for their impeccable craftsmanship, intricate designs and rich history, these scarves have been a fashion staple since the 1930s. But beyond wearing them, we’ve found that they make stunning statement pieces when framed.

Our approach to interior design at Paris Perfect is all about timeless elegance – creating apartments that will stand the test of time, just like these scarves. Each piece we select adds a distinctive touch to our apartments, often becoming the inspiration for an entire room’s color scheme.

Take the Conti co-ownership apartment, for example. The striking black, white and gold design of the scarf hand-picked for this apartment completely shaped the décor. The tassels in the scarf’s pattern inspired the sconces on either side of the fireplace, while the bold black shades were a direct nod to the striking black accents in the design. You can read more about how the scarf patterns influence decorating in many of fractional properties here.

At the Conti, the Hermès scarf inspired the decor.

Finding the Perfect Scarves

Sourcing the perfect vintage Hermès scarves is an art in itself. Madelyn has built relationships with experts in Paris who specialize in authentic, high-quality pieces. Two of our favorite sources include:

  • Véronique at Le Grenier d’Amatxi – Located in Marché Vernaison at the Paris Flea Market, Véronique is a true expert with an encyclopedic knowledge of Hermès designs, artists and history. This is always one of Madelyn’s first stops when searching for scarves.
  • CornerLuxe Bosquet – A centrally located boutique in the 7th arrondissement, just a short walk from many of our Paris vacation rentals. Along with scarves, you’ll find a carefully curated collection of vintage luxury pieces.
Hermès scarf framed

The beautiful Hermès scarf in the Syrah bedroom.

The Framing Process

Once we’ve chosen the perfect scarves, the next step is framing them. This is where Isadorure, a specialized framing workshop in the 7th arrondissement, comes in. Isabelle and her team are experts in restoring antique gilded wood and framing artwork to perfection.

One recent update in our framing process is opting to frame scarves without glass. While traditional framing methods include a glass cover, we’ve found that scarves hold their color exceptionally well, and removing the glass prevents glare and keeps the frames lighter. The first apartment where we tried this was Syrah, and we loved the result! A simple feather duster is all that’s needed to keep the fabric clean.

Enjoy a stay at our charming Saumur apartment rental – with our signature Hermès scarf touch!

For a unique twist, our Saumur apartment features a smaller Hermès scarf, so we worked with Isabelle to create a double frame and custom-painted matting to make the piece stand out. It’s now the perfect finishing touch to this beautiful one-bedroom vacation rental on Rue Cler.

Where You Can Spot Hermès Scarves in Our Apartments

We’ve incorporated these beautiful scarves into several of our vacation rentals across Paris and Italy, adding a distinctive and elegant touch to each space. In addition to Saumur, here are just a few of our favorites:

  • La Place Dauphine – Our charming apartments in this historic square were recently updated, and each one now features a stunning Hermès scarf to complement its timeless Parisian décor. Stay tuned to the Paris Perfect blog for a fun look at the scarves we selected for La Place Dauphine!
  • Vivant – When you step inside this co-ownership apartment you’re greeted by the iconic Les Clefs design Hermès created by Caty Latham in 1965. This vintage beauty came from the Paris puces and we love how the elegant keys symbolize a warm welcome to your own Paris apartment. Want to experience it for yourself? Right now there’s a share available of the Vivant. Find out more here!
  • Saint-Pourçain – The scarf in this apartment brings a vibrant pop of color to one of the lovely bedrooms, making it a lively and inviting retreat. It’s the perfect example of how you can use a scarf to not just inspire a room’s design but also add color in a stylish way.

A vintage scarf is the perfect way to add a pop of color like at the Saint-Pourçain vacation rental.

  • Concerto – Our signature Hermès design isn’t just in Paris – you’ll also find it in select Italy Perfect vacation rentals! At the Concerto in Florence, the primary bedroom’s beautiful design was inspired by a sumptuous red and gold vintage Hermès scarf.
  • Maestro – At Maestro, our stunning fractional apartment in Florence, the primary bedroom’s rich gold and deep blue tones were drawn from a beautifully framed Hermès scarf. And bonus – there’s currently a share available! Find out more here about making this remarkable space your home in Florence.

Expanding the Paris touch to Italy Perfect with the Concerto in Florence.

Bringing a Piece of Paris Home

Many guests who stay in our apartments fall in love with the look of framed Hermès scarves and ask where they can shop for their own. If you’re inspired to bring a piece of Paris home with you, we highly recommend visiting Véronique at Le Grenier d’Amatxi or CornerLuxe Bosquet. A framed Hermès scarf makes for a unique and timeless souvenir – one that perfectly captures the essence of Parisian elegance.

If you’re staying in one of our apartments and fall in love with the look, why not bring a piece of Paris home with you? A framed Hermès scarf makes for a unique and timeless souvenir.

What We Loved

What really stood out to us at the Musée du Fromage was how personal and engaging the entire experience was. The staff not only made us feel welcome, but their knowledge and enthusiasm for cheese were contagious. After the tasting, they shared that their shop, Paroles de Fromagers, located at 41 Rue du Faubourg du Temple in the 10th arrondissement, offers hands-on cheese-making workshops and wine-and-cheese tastings. We’re already planning our next visit there – it sounds like a perfect next step for any foodie looking to deepen their appreciation for French culinary traditions!
