Met Éireann has upgraded its weather warning for Dublin and Wicklow to Status Orange, with flooding, dangerous driving conditions and poor visibility expected in the two counties.
The weather service had issued a Yellow warning for Dublin, Louth, Meath and Wicklow earlier on Friday, predicting localised floods and dangerous travelling conditions.
However, it has now upgraded its warning to Orange for Dublin and Wicklow, forecasting heavy spells of rain in the region.
The warning will remain in place until 8am tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow alert will apply in Louth and Meath until 9pm this evening, with heavy rain or showers expected, along with a chance of thunder.
It comes as the clean-up continues in the south of the country following Storm Babet, which dumped a month’s rain in the region in just 24 hours.
Weather expert Alan O'Reilly, who runs the popular @CarlowWeather X account, posted: "Heavy rain continues to slowly pushing in from the East. In Cork some showers continue and here in Midleton it is total devastation as the cleanup continues in homes and businesses with sandbags that failed to save them still in place. It is heartbreaking to see."
A Status Yellow rain warning has also been issued for Northern Ireland by the UK Met Office.
