A mother-of-two has described how she felt "targeted" after a sticker with vulgar language was left on her car window as she went shopping in a store with her kids.

The woman, who chose to remain anonymous, parked outside retail store B&M in Liverpool on Monday before popping inside to buy Christmas decorations, a bottle of water and a toy for her eldest child.

After leaving the store, she returned to her car parked outside, only to be met with a sticker with offensive language plastered to the window of the driver's side.

The sticker was not simply a handwritten note sellotaped to the window, but rather it was professionally-made. It said: "Not disabled, just a c***".

Having in fact parked in a parent and child space and not a disabled bay, the mother was extremely hurt and offended by the actions of the stranger.

Her sister-in-law, Stephanie Fitzpatrick, told the Liverpool Echo: "If this person feels it is appropriate to watch someone get out of their car and apply a sticker with such vulgar language on a child's car then they need to have their head examined.

"Disabilities aren't always visible, but even so, she was in a parent and child space. People around her think it's disgusting.

"The manager at B&M confirmed she was in a parent and child bay and told her 'don't let it ruin your day'. No one has the right to call out any disability or call anyone such disgusting language."

Stephanie added the sticker also left a "horrible sticky residue" on the window when they managed to finally get it off.

The mother, whose children are aged two and 14 weeks, has regularly parked in the same space but has never experienced anything like this. She called it "pathetic" but emphasised how the whole event has left her feeling "targeted and watched".

Stephanie said she has shared the picture across several local Facebook groups in the hope of identifying the culprit, but she said added: "It has put her off shopping there now and I'm sure it has put others off too."
