Victoria Mary Clarke last night revealed hubby Shane MacGowan was “doing well and being looked after” in hospital.
The Pogues legend, 65, was taken to hospital and spent a number of days in intensive care for an unspecified health issue.
His wife, 57-year-old Victoria Mary, told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “He is still in hospital but he is doing well and being looked after.
“I didn’t want to worry people. He is out of the ICU and doing well.”

It’s understood the singer-songwriter has been treated in a Dublin hospital since late June. Victoria did not address the reason for his hospital admission.
The latest health scare comes just months after his last hospital stay in December 2022 when he was treated for an infection.
Dirty Old Town singer Shane uses a wheelchair following accidents in 2016 and 2020.
He now has a full-time carer after he fell and broke his pelvis in 2016. In late 2020, he broke his knee and tore ligaments.
Victoria Mary recently hinted at the latest health scare in an Instagram post last month in which she tagged her husband’s account.
She said: “There has been a lot of turbulence in my life recently and it’s been very emotional and also scary.
“But this past few days I have noticed that even though there’s a LOT of fear there is also a huge amount of love and support and incredible blessings.
“I think that our minds can be VERY resistant to change and to having our lives shaken up and rearranged and we need to be very gentle and patient with ourselves...
“It’s a challenge to stay present with your feelings.
“Thank you to everyone who has been supporting me and @shanemacgowanofficial.”
Shane is one of six surviving original members of The Pogues after Phil Chevron and Daryl Hunt sadly passed away.
He is rarely seen in public and connects with his legions of fans via social media.
In June, he wished “handsome dude” Johnny Depp – a close friend since the 1980s – a happy 60th birthday.
Shane and Victoria Mary praised the Pirates Of The Caribbean star for being alive “after so many years of living life to BEYOND the fullest”.
Depp produced and featured in the documentary Crock of Gold – A Few Rounds with Shane MacGowan.
The Hollywood actor was also Shane and Victoria Mary’s official wedding guitarist when they tied the knot in Copenhagen in 2018.
In May, Victoria Mary shared an image of Shane with Bruce Springsteen, captioned “The Boss”, after the Glory Days singer, 73, paid a visit to see him at his Dublin home.
