The mother of three children killed in a horrific incident in Tallaght has visited their grave on the first anniversary of the tragedy.

Margaret 'Twink' Cash McDonagh and devastated family members gathered to pay their respects at the graves of Lisa Cash (18) and her siblings Christy and Chelsea Cawley (8) this week.

The three youngsters were discovered dead at their home in Rossfield Avenue in Tallaght, south Co Dublin on September 4 2022 - and their older brother Andy Cash was subsequently charged with their murder.

This week their heartbroken mother Margaret laid flowers at the grave with a message that read "love from Mammy" as family members and friends said prayers to mark the first anniversary of the tragedy which shocked the country.

The grieving family did not wish to speak but consented to this paper publishing images of the grave today.

A massive headstone now marks the grave with beautiful pictures of Lisa, Christy and Chelsea across it and a message on top which reads: "My three angels."

And speaking to this paper, Fr Paul O’Driscoll of the Parish of the Travelling People, who said the anniversary Mass for the three tragic children on Monday, spoke of the family’s continuing pain.

"The family were so dignified in the face of so much pain they have had to face and must still face," he said.

In his homily Fr O’Driscoll said that "everyone is welcome and all of you is welcome."

"The part that wants to show solidarity with Lisa, Christy and Chelsea’s family friends, neighbours and classmates from school.

"The part that wants to draw comfort and strength by being here.

"The part of you that doesn’t want to be here because it still hurts so much."

The children’s older brother Andy Cash, 24, has been sent forward for trial charged with their murders.
