TV star Lucy Kennedy has said Ryan Tubridy’s former RTE Radio 1 slot "wouldn't suit her" as she opens up about ratings worry for her show, Living With Lucy.
The presenter has just signed on for another two years to co-host her breakfast show on Classic Hits with pal and former 2FM host, Colm Hayes, who left RTE in 2016 after ten years.
Asked if she was tempted to put her name in the hat for pal Ryan’s old job, Lucy said she was happy where she is.

She said: “No. Absolutely no. I love a double act. I love breakfast. I love talking on the radio when everyone is still asleep and getting out of bed. I love breakfast radio and I love having a co-host and I couldn’t do any better than Hayes.
“I love the banter and the chat so Ryan’s slot wouldn’t suit me because it’s only one hour. After one hour I’m just getting warmed up.
“I’d be too lonely.
“We have just signed up a new two-year contract with Classic Hits.”
But Lucy admitted she wouldn’t rule out ever working with RTE again.
“I am technically freelance. I wouldn’t mind doing something for RTE.”
However, The Friendship Fairies author did admit ratings to her hit Living With Lucy show keep her awake at night.
“Yes. Always. And anybody who says that they don’t is lying because it’s my job but also, I hope that everybody loves what I do. I always feel apprehension before I get the ratings.
“Then I’m on top of the world because they have always been very high so, please God it lasts but of course I think about theses things.
“It’s like the JNLRs (radio listenership). It’s like a constant assessment.
“It affects me. When they are really good, I am really happy,” she added.
