"So bizarre sometimes it’s easy to forget it’s not fictional.

"The whole play is based on her real life events from dodging bullets in the Rising to appearing on BBC chat shows.

"Can’t wait for you to see it! Official opening night next week Tuesday 15th."

She encouraged her fans to "get your tickets quick."

It has been an emotional week for the singer following the burial of her close pal Sinead O’Connor on Tuesday.

Imelda posted an Instagram video on Wednesday about the funeral - from her dressing room as she rehearsed for her new play.

She said: "Hi. (I’m) back in rehearsals.

"Rehearsals every day, first show tomorrow, did promo.

"It's been a tough time and didn't we all send Sinead off beautifully yesterday?

"We gave her loads of love, we sang to the heavens for her all night."
